Dallas Ditzy Chix

Eight of the Ditzy Chix got together at RWA's conference in Dallas in July to celebrate a great year. The highlight of the conference was when Elizabeth Sinclair's Baptism in Fire won the Long Contemporary category of the National Readers Choice Award. Stuck in the airport during the NRCA award ceremony, Elizabeth was surprised later that evening with the news. That's Elizabeth being hugged by Kathie DeNosky-->

2007 has already been a great year so far for the Ditzy Chix. Check out our YouTube video and see why. In celebration of the many finalists this year, we were able to get everyone together in one place with a few friends added in for fun.

Don't miss Lisa Childs' Damned from Silhouette Nocturne! It's the 104th Ditzy Chix book, and one of the many reasons we haven't been blogging as much as we'd like to. With a little luck, maybe we can fix that.
Have a great rest-of-2007, and we'll be back soon!

Chix rule!

My Madonna Key pal Cindy Dees is a Rita finalist in the Long Contemporary category!!! Woohoo!!!! While I'm admittedly disappointed that not one Madonna Key book finaled, it may be the power of the series grows from book to book due to the tight weaving of all the interconnecting threads.

And get this, three of the Ditzy Chix are either Rita [Kristi Gold for Short Contemporary] and Kimmi Duffy and Mary Gardner for Golden Heart...how cool is that!!!!!!!!!! What a stellar awards ceremony it's going to be at National this year. I'd better take plenty of throat losenges as I'm going to be yelling a lot. :) Carol

Merry Christmas!!

The Ditzy Chix have all been busy as, well, Chix will be, but I wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas, full of joy, peace, and love.

And I thought I'd share a photo of one of the gifts I received. My daughter's fiance makes custom designed mirrors, and he and my daughter made this one for me this year. Look familiar?

Love to all of you!

What Happened to September?

Wow, it's hard to believe it's been a month since we've posted here. Time has a habit of getting away from me and it looks like the other Chix have been suffering from the same thing. I don't think I'm telling tales if I say several Chix have new contracts and will be busy writing up a storm for the forseeable future.

Now that fall is here and the leaves are changing, I'm hoping for some changes here at home, including more evenings to curl up with some good books. I know Carol's latest Shadows Lines book is out and I can't wait to pick it up.

I wish I had some exciting news of my own to share, but life here is pretty much the same from day to day. Maybe that's not such a bad thing and I'll have something to add soon.
